Side-by-Side fridges

A side-by-side fridge has two doors next to each other: cooling on one side, freezing on the other. That puts both compartments at eye level and makes it easy to grab what you need. With a capacity of 439 to 600 litres there is room to spare, often with a water dispenser and No Frost. Our models come mainly from Heinner, topped up with a few from Fram. With a 5-year warranty, free delivery and installation and Trusted Shops buyer protection, you buy with peace of mind.

More about side-by-side fridges

A side-by-side fridge is an American fridge with two doors next to each other: cooling on one side, freezing on the other. With a capacity of 439 to 600 litres you have space in abundance, and many models have a water dispenser and No Frost. See all side-by-side fridges here or compare them with the wider range of American fridges.

Two doors next to each other

In a side-by-side the fridge sits on one side and the freezer on the other, both from top to bottom. That keeps your fresh and your frozen products at eye level, without bending down. Would you rather have a freezer compartment at the bottom with a wide fridge section above it? Then take a look at the French Door fridges.

Roomy from 439 to 600 litres

With 439 to 600 litres of capacity a side-by-side is made for larger households or for anyone who likes to buy in stock. The doors are relatively narrow, so you need less swing space in front of it than with a single wide door. You will find more spacious options at large fridges.

No Frost and water dispenser

Most models have No Frost, so you never have to defrost again and your freezer stays ice-free. A built-in water dispenser gives you chilled water straight away without opening the door. See the models with a water dispenser.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about side-by-side fridges

Cannot find your question here? Feel free to get in touch with us.

What is the difference between a side-by-side and a French Door fridge?

In a side-by-side, the fridge and freezer sit next to each other, each with its own door running from top to bottom. A French Door has a wide fridge compartment with two doors on top and a freezer drawer below. Choose side-by-side if you want a spacious freezer at eye level; choose French Door if you mainly want plenty of wide fridge space. Take a look at the French Door fridges to compare.

How much space do I need for a side-by-side fridge?

A side-by-side is wider than an ordinary fridge, so measure the width of the spot where it will stand carefully beforehand. The individual doors are slim, though, so they need less swing room than a single wide door. Not sure about the dimensions? View the full range of American fridge freezers and compare the sizes model by model.

What does No Frost mean on a side-by-side fridge?

No Frost stops a layer of ice forming in the freezer, so you never have to defrost again. The air is blown round evenly, which also helps to keep the temperature stable. Read more in our guide which fridge with No Frost is recommended.

Do I get a warranty and installation with a side-by-side fridge?

Yes. A 5 year warranty applies to all our side-by-side fridges. Delivery and installation are free, so your appliance is put in place and connected for you. With Trusted Shops buyer protection you also buy without any worries. Still not sure which type is right? Take a look at the selector which fridge freezer.
