800 watt microwaves: what does it mean?

800, 700 or 900 watts?
The difference is mostly time. What takes three minutes at 800 watts needs about three and a half at 700 watts, and just under three at 900. For a single plate you will barely notice; if you often reheat for several people, more power is more pleasant.
Does 800 watts use much electricity?
No, because a microwave runs briefly. Three minutes at 800 watts costs roughly 0.05 kWh, a few cents. Precisely because it heats only the food and not a whole oven, reheating in the microwave is more efficient than in an oven.
Is that the same as power consumption?
