Freezers: extra freezer space to suit your household

Looking for more freezer space? At Pro Witgoed you can choose between chest freezers and upright freezers, nearly all from Heinner, plus a single Fram model. The core question is simple: do you want the most space per euro with a chest, or an upright model with drawers that stays easy to keep track of day to day? Look above all at the capacity in litres and, where available, at No Frost so you never have to defrost. Every model comes with a 5-year warranty, free delivery and installation and Trusted Shops buyer protection.

More about freezers

A separate freezer comes in handy when your fridge freezer offers too little freezing space or when you want to build up large stocks. At Pro Witgoed we split the range into chest freezers and upright freezers, so you quickly find the right type. A chest freezer is a top loader that offers plenty of space per euro and is ideal for anyone who buys frozen food in bulk; an upright freezer is a standing model with drawers that stays easy to keep track of in daily use. Still torn between separate or combined cooling and freezing? Then also browse the wider fridges and freezers range.

Chest freezer or upright freezer?

The choice depends on how you freeze. A chest freezer is a top loader that gives you a lot of freezing space per euro and is ideal for large stocks. An upright freezer is a standing model with drawers that stays easy to keep track of in daily use, because you find products again easily. In doubt? Then compare the freezers side by side at your leisure.

Watch the capacity in litres

The capacity determines how much you can store and is expressed in litres. To supplement your kitchen a compact model of around 100 litres is enough, while for the harvest from the garden or bulk buying you are better off with a roomy chest freezer of 200 litres or more. Work out in advance how many litres you really need and you avoid an appliance that is too small or needlessly large.

No Frost: never defrost again

On models with No Frost you no longer have to defrost the freezer by hand, because no layer of ice builds up. That saves time and hassle and keeps the contents neatly accessible. You mainly see No Frost on upright models; for those, take a look at the upright freezers and check on each model whether the function is present.

Heinner and Fram at Pro Witgoed

Our freezer range consists mainly of Heinner models, alongside a single Fram model. That way we offer reliable appliances for a wide variety of households, from a compact extra freezer to a large chest. Every model comes with a 5-year warranty and free delivery and installation. Read more about the choice in the guide on upright freezers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about freezers

Cannot find your question here? Feel free to get in touch with us.

What is the difference between a chest freezer and a freestanding freezer?

A chest freezer is a top loader: you open the lid on top and stack the products inside. That gives you plenty of freezer capacity per euro and is ideal for large stocks. A freestanding freezer is an upright model with drawers, so you can find things more easily and the appliance stays well organised in daily use. Choose the chest freezer if space and price come first, and the freestanding freezer if you value keeping an overview.

How many litres of freezer capacity do I need?

A handy rule of thumb is roughly 50 to 60 litres per person. For a two-person household that works out at around 100 litres, and for a family of four you soon reach 200 to 250 litres. If you freeze a lot, meat, fish or the harvest from the garden for example, add some extra room and choose a more generous chest freezer. Work it out beforehand and you avoid ending up with an appliance that is too small, or buying a needlessly large freezer.

What does No Frost mean on a freezer?

No Frost means that no layer of ice builds up in the freezer, so you no longer have to defrost the appliance by hand. That saves you time and hassle and keeps the contents easy to reach. You mainly see this function on freestanding models. Check for each model in the range whether No Frost is included, because not every freezer has this function.

Which freezer brands does Pro Witgoed sell?

Our freezer range consists almost entirely of Heinner models, alongside a single model from Fram. That covers a wide variety of needs, from a compact extra freezer to a large chest freezer for bulk storage. Every model comes with a 5 year warranty, free delivery and installation and Trusted Shops buyer protection.

Yes. On every freezer at Pro Witgoed you get a 5 year warranty and free delivery and installation. On top of that you buy with Trusted Shops buyer protection, so your purchase has extra cover. That way you know where you stand in advance, and once it has been delivered you have nothing to arrange for the positioning of your new freezer.
