Which cooker hood suits you?

What to look for

  • Width

    Choose a hood at least as wide as your hob. For a 70 to 90 cm hob, a 90 cm hood fits.

  • Extraction rate

    Allow for 10 times the volume of your kitchen per hour. A 30 m³ kitchen therefore needs about 300 m³/h.

  • Type of hood

    An under-cabinet hood or telescopic hood goes under a kitchen cupboard. A chimney hood hangs on the wall and a built-in hood disappears completely inside a cupboard.

  • No outside vent?

    Most hoods can then run in recirculation mode with a carbon filter. The air is filtered and returned to the kitchen.

  • Noise

    Look at the noise at the highest setting: the lower the dB figure, the calmer your kitchen.
